I am trying to install "Satscape" a satellite tracking programme.
Almost at the end of the installation I get the error message-

Self Registration Error
One or more files did not properly self register
The following files did not self register
1. C:\Windows\System\ssubtmr.dll
One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found

C:\Windows\System does have the file ssubtmr.dll

Thanks for reading this

Hi Joson

You can download ssubtmr.dll (http://www.vbweb.co.uk/show/49/6/) from this site.

Having had a read through the FAQ's on the Satscape website (http://satscape.members.easyspace.com/) I see that your problem hasn't been mentioned before. There is an email mail link (http://satscape.members.easyspace.com/faq.html) to report bugs at the bottom of this page that you may wish to use.

Oops! I should read posts more carefully. I see that you already have the DLL file (no need to download it). It might still pay to send an email off to the bug link I gave and see what they have to say.

Try (re)registering the DLL yourself...
Firstly unregister the dll (may get informational 'errors'), then register the dll as per the following

From a command prompt type:

regsvr32 /u C:\Windows\System\ssubtmr.dll
regsvr32 C:\Windows\System\ssubtmr.dll

Cheers, Babe.

Thanks folks for your input. Greatly appreciated
The fix was eventually supplied by the programme designer, Scott Hather
File Msvbvm50.dll needed to be included in C:\Windows\System

Quite a puzzle for me as I can install the programme on one 486 without the file but a second 486 and a Pentium 133 need the file

Scott may include the file with future versions

Thanks again
