Did you know...

It is impossible to lick your elbow.

A crocodile can't stick its tongue out.

A shrimp's heart is in its head.

In a study of 200,000 ostriches over a period of 80 years, no one reported a single case where an ostrich buried its head in the sand.

It is physically impossible for pigs to look up into the sky.

A pregnant goldfish is called a twit.

More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call.

Horses can't vomit.

The "sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick" is said to be the toughest tongue twister in the English language.

If you sneeze too hard, you can fracture a rib.
If you try to suppress a sneeze, you can rupture a blood vessel in your head or neck and die.
If you keep your eyes open by force, they can pop out.

Rats multiply so quickly that in 18 months, two rats could have over a million descendants.

Wearing headphones for just an hour will increase the bacteria in your ear by 700 times.

If the government has no knowledge of aliens, then why does Title 14, Section 1211 of the Code of Federal Regulations, implemented on July 16, 1969, make it illegal for U.S. citizens to have any contact with extraterrestrials or their vehicles?

In every episode of Seinfeld there is a Superman somewhere.

A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why.

23% of all photocopier faults worldwide are caused by people sitting on them and photocopying their butts.

Most lipstick contains fish scales.

Like fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different.

Over 75% of people who read this will try to lick their elbow. :p

no it doesn't actually, because u are meant to lick the tip of the elbow, which is physically impossible, (for most peple anyway):D.

Also u can lead a cow upstairs but u can't lead it back down.

oooh.. I hate trivia lists.

> Horses can't vomit.

True. A big old clydesdale at a stable I worked at got fed bread rolls by some stupid little kids, and wasn't able to vomit, so they solidified in his stomach and eventuallly choked him to death. Stupid mother nature.

> If you keep your eyes open by force, they can pop
> out.

False. They won't "pop out". But it is pretty much impossible anyway.

Possibly. That section is reserved (http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx_02/14cfrv5_02.html)

> In every episode of Seinfeld there is a Superman
> somewhere.

True. Jerry Seinfeld is obsessed with superman.

> 23% of all photocopier faults worldwide are caused by

I doubt it.

> Over 75% of people who read this will try to lick

But honeylaser, how do you know if you can or not if you don't try?
(your life may never be the same)

I have no need to look like an idiot ;) I know that it will be physically impossible, I'm not flexible enough.

contemplating it and actually doing it (and looking like an idiot) are different things :p

I would not be surprised if this turned out to be true.

re: a cow downstairs. It's because of two things - 1, a cows front legs are shorter than it's back legs, and when it moves faster than a slow meander, it moves both front legs at once. Thus, if you are being chased by a bull, run downhill (steepest one you can find - too bad if you are in a flat paddock) as it speeds you up, and slows the bull down (doesn't stop it unfortunately).

I don't know about cows, but there's the story of the "donkey up the minaret" ... solved by the Patrician in Jingo by Terry Pratchett.

Mike,
It is possible to lick your elbow! :p haha! I tried it over summer with some friends! They were amazed to see I could actually do it! But I can, and not the inside of my elbow! The very tip! My friends took a picture of me doing it and sent it to their youth group (they had a contest f impossible things to see if they were actually possible).

Not sure Mike will be looking at the thread after 4 years though... (did you note the date when replying to this?)

And, from Guinness World Records: "Elbow Licking. Contrary to popular urban legend, it is quite possible for some people to lick their own elbow".

Recycling is ecologically sound GF. :D

And ducks' quacks do echo, the only problem is that they are rarely found in areas where an echo is possible.

Snopes.com might have a comment on a few of the rest as well.

Cheers
