I have used the AVG Grisoft scanner a couple of times and it finds the infected files for me, asks me if I want to put them in the "virus vault" but then tells me that the files can't be removed from the drive!?!? My pc is now running at a slower speed because of it. Has anybody had this problem and know how to deal with it?

You may have to disable System Restore (from memory)

Download the NAV Bugbear removal tool from Symantec - it may solve your problem.

Go to the McAfee site here (http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/) and download "Stinger". Its a small program that fits on a floppy, it will kill and remove Bugbear and a few others. I tried it on a colleagues PC and it worked fine.

Bugbear also locks the files if they have downloaded to the PC. If you start in safe mode, they become removeable.

If AVG Real-Time monitor is enabled, and on boot scanner, restart and it'll pick up the files coming into action, select Stop to stop the files from loading. Scan, and you'll be sweet, it will be able to "Heal" the files without a worry!
