I have recently acquired an New PC at work and am no longer able to e-mail word document/Presentations files by using the "Sendto " option

On my previous pc which ran office 97 I could do this quite easily though I was one of the VERY few in the company who could. No one could figure out why this was.

I suspect that it was because I had reinstalled office AFTER the notes client had been installed.

When the new PC was set up I did the same thing and installed office after notes had been installed.

I would be very grateful if anyone could help me to solve this problem

Hi Cameron, I have the Lotus email/ Office combo at work and have the same problem. The issue is Lotus Notes which doesnt support the way Office integrates with email. However, I have been told the later versions of Notes dont have this problem.

I don't use Notes but I'm wondering why you don't just put your own shortcut in your Send To menu.

Just go to the folder in Windows, go to File>New>Shortcut and in the Command Line box browse to your email client .exe file and then finish the Wizard. My command line is "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /eml:%1 for Outlook Express.

When you right click on a file you then get the option to send it to a new message for an email.

I hope this is what you are after and that it works for you. :-)

I believe Cameron is talking about the SendTo menu from within Word, PowerPoint etc but your workaround may help if using Windows Explorer but not sure. The problem stems from compatibility issues with MAPI and MS Exchange. As mentioned earlier I think that the later version/s of Notes may have resolved this (R5+?).

You will have to provide more details such as version of Notes and Office plus O/S.

Have a look at these links anyway...

Thank you everyone for the responses.

I am using Notes R5.08 which is one of the most recent I believe

I will try the option of adding notes to the Send to menu and will post the results.

Heres hoping.
