The monitor is giving a slight click and picture disappears for a second, does not lose colour. When I go to next page whilst surfing, the screen appears to shrink and resize ever so slightly. Two years old, my main worry is, is it worth fixing or new monitor required.

The "shrinking and resizing" sounds like the high voltage to the tube is poorly regulated.

The click and disappearance is a bit less clear, some have a relay in them than disables the picture while changing resolution, there is also spark gaps that allow a safety arc-over that can sound like a click.

You would need to be careful how much you spend, as you are aware but at 2 years old its worth a look by a repair specialist. Are you sure its not still under warranty, some had 3 years?

Thanks for your help. Rang shop where I paid $300 for 5yr Cover, they told me twice it was not covered, only puter, so drove thru to shop and put monitor on table but got same reply. After "blowing up" another man came over and said Cover was for puter AND monitor. It is now there for 10 days and I gave them a printout of your thoughts which they say should be the problem.. Once again. Many thanks.Ralph.
