I recently got a computer with XP Home Edition already loaded, and a 80GB hard drive split into 4 partitions. I would also like to run Windows 98 on the same system. I understand that this must be on a seperate partition to XP, but was told that Windows 98 must be installed first. Is this true? Could somebody also tell me about the other steps involved.

Yes. ;-) See the FAQ (use the button at the top right hand corner of this page). The easiest way will be to remove XP, install W98 then XP. You might be able to install XOSL (http://www.xosl.org) or another boot manager, then install W98, but I don't know if xosl handles XP.
