How can I get away from the Y / N request when I want to Del the contenys of a floppy in A Drive.
Im using

Del a:\*.*

You could try del a:\*.* /q

That puts it into quiet mode and shouldn't ask you Y/N.

Type del /? to get a list of other switches you can use.

format a: /u /autotest will also do the job :)

format a: /u /q /autotest will probably be a lot quicker

why not [pre]deltree /y a:\[pre]?

Surely you dont want to go back to DOS 6.22? That version didnt have the option, by default, to say No, so if you accidently typed del *.* in c:\ instead of a:\ you lost all your root files. Not good if you hadnt made a duplicate root directory.
The y/n option was put into DOS 7 to help prevent that happening. I should just accept it and be happy.

But you could say "undelete" ... They took that out of "version 7".
