Hi...

I want to copy from Kazaa "My Shared Folder" (about 250 Downloaded MP3's, 660MB) to a formatted (InCD) CD-RW disc as a backup. Would the whole folder of MP3's be compressed much with WinZip ?... I cancelled the add to zip process 'cos it appears to take some time to zip the folder...

Cheers...

I doubt winzip could compress mp3's much more than they are.

With the whole folder being 660 MB you said you should be able to burn it. You can get 700 MB Cd-R's for real cheap. I think that they are on special at paper plus (if it is where you are)!! I know that you can get 700MB discs so why don't you go and buy some of them.

Won't compress much as they're already compressed.

don't compress them with winzip. i have tried it and the gain in space is small. you also run the risk of any defect on the disk can mean most of the mp3's will not be recovered. you can put in a recovery record to guard against this but the file size ends up bigger than the original mp3's.

Hi...

Good Idea. Got the Harvey Normal brochure today, and they have 10 CD-R's for $ 4.95 !. Shot out & brought some...

I have used those Harvey Norman CDRs (same deal a month or so ago) - they work fine at 40x write.
