I got an idea. It woke me up this morning...

Anyway, I have been trying to run my own PC repairs business for some time now, unfortunately due to lack of money, It hasn't really taken off. And also due to the fact that Im up against shoddy technicians who to a crap job and charge the earth. These people give us a bad name. They are the root of all evil! THEY MUST BE DESTROYED!!!

Ahem... anyway, Im always thinking about different ways to promote a business, or even get one going. The answer, I think, is safety in numbers. Since there are a few people here at PressF1 who are very capable, and unemployed, I'd like to share my ideas with you.

I'm not happy about sharing my business ideas with the rest of the world, however I do have something specific in mind.

The first step will be to send me an email stating your name (real), location (town, city I don't need your exact address) what computer related skills and quals you have (don't be brief) and whether you have transport. This is open to everybody who is serious about working as a techie and is unemployed.

Once I have that info I will contact you all and take it from there.

I'm not promising anything, and it is quite possible that my current idea will never eventuate, but if we all get together and nut it out, it could be something!

Cheers SiK

BTW my email address can be found at MyStuff (http://mystuff.orcon.net.nz)

More than likely the last option...... I think you are getting me mixed up with someone else. You have never worked on my computer, unless you came to Dunedin and climbed in my window when I was out

Thats OK Sonik...... I apologise if I riled you up with my sarcastic comment........

I was hoping to send you an email, but my Son double deleted the MS Word doco I wrote it on, so will try and remember the points I made, and email you later in week.

I'm self employed, but not in the computer field - but I have a feeling that you need the same similar ideas. No matter what you take on.

Yes, you sure have. But you've made me laugh a lot too, if that means anything to you. :-)

Can I come to the party too?

If you're an out of work techie, can handle doing full on repairs unsupervised, have transport, have tools and equip, sure!

Somedays I wish I was out of work. Then I could be more selfemployed at my own speed rather than someone else's

Too add to this,

There is a full time techie job available on the West Coast (Westport) if anyone is interested, involving PC construction, maintenance, software installs etc etc.

Hit me back if this interests anyone, I will give you details.

I'm pretty sure about what you're thinking of setting up, and I reckon it's a fantastic idea. I hope you make a go of it. If you need a free commercial website for the biz, lemme know and I'll make that my contribution. Start thinking up a good name for the domain.
