EVERY single program I dwonload to copy CD's to MP3's wont read the CD. The CD has all the songs on it (.cda files :/) and and I go to add them to the convert list but the programs don't see the files, therefore NO converstion, :(. What is wrong?

ok... firstly what OS? certain os's have trouble with the aspi drivers that are used to read the cd.

what cd ripper program have you tried? some need aspi drivers working while others don't.

try nero cd speed to cd drive as well.

ok thanks, but this still doesn't help me becasue I want to use the program I have now. To does CD to WAV/MP3/WMA/WAV/OGG and WAV/MP3/WMA/WAV/OGG to WAV or MP3 or WMA or WAVor OGG

19-09-2002, 10:18 PM
cdex does all those (not to sure about WMA but who uses that)

did you see the bit about aspi drivers?

19-09-2002, 10:20 PM
yep, thanks heaps. Umm,I will use this CDex to do my CD's and the other program to do te rest of my work. Got any idea how to add CD TEXT to a CD when I burn it?

19-09-2002, 10:41 PM
CD TEXT is more to do with the cd writer software.

if cdex as aspi problems look at EAC (http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/) .

What CD Software should I use to do this?

i use audio catalyst on 98 sec edition works well and easy to use as well audio grabber is similar

20-09-2002, 11:07 AM
audio catalyst is not FREE. you need to buy it (assumeing they still sell it)
not to sure about audio grabber tho.

however they use Xing codec which is CRAPPY compared to the later ones such as LAME and OGG.

i used to use audio catalyst but have since redone all my rips with cdex using ogg. much better quality and smaller file size.

use it in paranoid mode. if i have any problems with big faults on the disks i use EAC.

found what i was looking for a while ago- Adaptec ASPI XP v4.71.1 (WinXP) (http://www.bitbenderforums.com/~amstoned/Divx/AdaptecASPIXP4711.zip)

20-09-2002, 05:38 PM
What is this and what do I do with it?

Thanks for all your help,

sorry i don't have XP so i havn't used this particular one. hopefully it will install itself. its an ASPI driver which a lot of ripping programs need to access the cd drives with.

if in doubt search the net about it.
