Have had to rebuild my system after a hard disk failure. Have retrieved my CD music files from my backup, but MediaPlayer won't let me play any of them because "the license is either missing or corrupted" - then says i have to re-record from the original CD. That's days of work for the 120 CD's i've got recorded!!!
I assume problem is that the licenses are on the original hard disk and were not backed up (I used copy/paste). I still have that disk, and most of the data on it is accessible, but i don't know where to look for the licence file or whether it can be copied.

Any ideas or suggestions???

Hi Murray,
I hardly ever use WMP.... instead use Musicmatch Jukebox, which will do everything WMP can do and more.

Available as a free download @ http://www.musicmatch.com

You will be able to play all your music CDs on it. Give it a go, you will be more than happy

BALDY:-)

Thanks Baldy - I think I'll do that. Wonder if Microsoft have any idea how much time they cause their customers to waste?????!!
