Since I got my PC back from a BIOS fix I cant get more than 2 or 16 colours. ie Contol panel/ Display/ settings/ colours which to say the least is horrible let alone limiting.
Ive reformatted C from scratch reloaded w98 and still the same- which I needed to do anyway. I'm sure I have the right drivers. I have an athlon 1.4 mhz/ 256 mb ram, 2 sizable hard drives.
Under advanced/ adapter Standard pci graphics adapter is - vga.drv, *vdd.
Could the supplier have changed this in some way

It looks like you only have the default drivers loaded for your video card/chipset.

You need to download the correct drivers from the makers website. If you have on-board video you need the drivers from the motherboard maker or the chipset maker, if its a video card, get them from the card makers site.

If you got your PC with full CD's of operating system etc, they should be on a disk or CD.

thanks for that.

Net says I need fcc Id No which is FCC ID = ICUVGA-GW806.
However, searching on that gives me nothing including at drivers sites?
I did see it on some fcc site which acknowledges its 'acceptance' by FCC? but couldnt download from there. Any ideas?

Your card/chip is manufactured by Gainward (http://www.gainward.com).

You may need to lift the lid on your pc to see exactly what type of card/chip you've got there. Their download (http://www.gainward.com/f-2-1.asp) page shows what to look for.
