Hi, Im just new to this forum, so thanks for reading!
My pc : Duron1.0 Ghz, 256mb pc133 ram, PCI Geforce2 32MB, windows XP home edition.

my problem: LAME peformance, especially playing games (I.E warcraft 3).

I have run 3dMark 2001 on my machine, and on my friends (lower specced machine), and found that the lower specced machine actually got a higher score!
Any 3d accelerated game I play throws a fit if I try to run in higher than 800x600 with 16bit textures. I have installed the latest detonator XP drivers to no avail.

Any help on this topic would be much appreciated
(Please, no hardware upgrade suggetions!)

ok how slow is slow?

have you got benchmark figures? give quake3 demo 001 a run through.

is the onboard vid card disabled or are you running it as a dual vid setup?

what motherboard?

what programs have you got running in the background?

what specs was the other machine you are compareing it to?

Hi. The AGP aperture size seems to make a significant difference in gaming. Perhaps you could try altering it with a bit of trial and error testing. You can change it via your system's bios (usually by holding the Delete key while booting to access the bios, and be careful not to muck with too much else). Try double the figure it's set at, or maybe 1 1/2 times etc. If system throws a wobbly just reboot and reset it to slightly lower (or higher) values.

Ummm ... I don't think that'll help much with a PCI card, Greg. :D

try disabling some TSR programs running in the background (i.e. ur anti-virus, and other apps) which is in ur system tray.
