I have recently upgraded to Office XP and have discovered that Outlook is aggresively moving emails to the deleted items folder.

I have reviewed the rules, and see none that should cause certain emails to be classed as junk. One friend seems to get junked for no good reason so I have put his address in the exception list.

One legit sender is from xtra.co.nz, the other is from a dutch domain name. Neither message has any of the porn or selling keywords.

Are there rules I can't see?

Anyone noticed a similar problem?

Am I the only one out there using Office XP?

I find that on occaison Outlook 10 (XP) doesn't apply a rule. For instance, I have all my PF1 notifications going into their own folder. Sometimes they remain in the inbox for no reason. I have never had the junk problem.

Try clicking on the organise icon and then selecting the junk email tab. You could always put those emails that are filtered into the exceptoin list.

Hmmm, I'll definitely have to think about this one.

I went here and it has a new set of filters - they live in filters.txt (easiest to find it in explorer, doesn't always live where they say it does)

Interesting list. Now at least I know what it is doing. Still no idea why it hates certain people.

All my IDG emails go to one folder, plus all my trademe and ebay stuff goes to another. That works pretty reliably. just not sure why it's taken a sudden dislike to Rory, Matt, and Heidi.

I use office XP, Robo but dont use Outlook for mail, being a Eudora convert.

But I was amused to have some mail flagged as having "offensive content" in Eudora, which has a "chilli pepper" rating scale from 1 to 3 peppers.

The mail message in question was from a regulatory committee, and perusing the reason for the rating, I concluded that it was due to one gentleman with the surname of "Bosomworth" in the "cc" field!

Robo, I am using XP and Outlook 2002 as well but have to admit it is running sweetly with none of the problems you report. I did find some other problems were rectified when I installed SP1, maybe yours might benefit from this SP.

I am using Inbox Protector as an over ride to Outlooks filter and it works well. I set it to let through all emails from addresses in the addressbook and filter out others into a special folder from which I can go through manually.
