I have a timer attached to my computer, so it only looks as though I am posting 24/7.

It has a two-fold function as well. I never kicked off the net, and I can continuously download mp3s 24/7

Only people with access to the Admin interface get the "head". And since I can whip Scott's butt so comprehensively in Day of Defeat, he is not worthy. But he should take heart. At least he isn't Paul Stowers, possibly the worst HL/CS/Day of Defeat player on the face of the planet :p

>...and besides, I still remember killing you in CS... not all geeks at IDG are guys!

Kerry, most people remember those momentous things they only achieved once in their lives. For some it is reaching the FA cup final. For others winning a Nobel prize. Others remember winning 1st division lotto or passing someone famous in the street. For you, that single momentous occasion was obviously rather pathetic and trivial, but I guess you've got to play with the hand you're dealt ....

Kerry Dodds
14-08-2002, 05:06 PM
Hey Graham L,

Yes, noticed that... I'm an avid PressF1 voyeur.

We actually ran the same ads last year over 4 months and there were no probs. Seems to be the latest version of Opera (minus the requisite JVM), that's causing most of the furore.

That's the problem with the 'Net, when things go wrong, there's 101 things to look at to see where the problem is!! hehe.

Cheers

Kerry Dodds

Yeah, but I get to abuse Bruce all day. Variety is the spice of life, and your Beckham-esque haircut is crying out for abuse.

Besides, we L7 folk sometimes stick together... it's a matter of survival really as our 'climate' tends to vary from the 'freezer' setting to the 'hell' setting and we need constant stimulation to keep ourselves warm/cool, as the case may be.

There's a lot to be said for working from home! Or having a mobile office set-up. Now if I could only afford a Sony Vaio laptop, the Nokia 8910 cellphone, the latest Handspring PDA, a Canon digital camera, and the Creative Labs NOMAD Jukebox 3 MP3 player with car kit, I'd be a very happy little geek-girl!

hehe, I'll have you know that the Web team here at IDG are a very devoted bunch... it may seem that we muck around sometimes, but there's a lot of overtime (unpaid at that X-( ), that goes into creating and maintaining our sites... we've had people who spent New Year's Eve 2000 up the Sky tower waiting for the Y2K blackout to happen ;\ , Webmasters who trot into work at all times of the day and night to fix servers that have crashed (fortunately, not that regular an occurance), and of course people having to answer queries from site visitors, advertisers and business partners at all times of the night and day.

Do we qualify for martyrdom yet? ;-)
