Just so you know, I am new to linux and have just installed red hat 7.3 (I got sick of xp crashing so much!), the install went fine however I am stuck with this problem: Where is the volume control in KDE?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Liam.

Hopefully you have found it by now, but you should have a multimedia menu with the KDE Mixer app in there somewhere. Pretty sure it's called "kmix" (kmixer?) so entering that from the command line should start it too.

Thanks for the help.

A nifty speaker has popped up in the 'system tray' area as well!

Cheers

Another question: I have turned up the volume in the kmix (which has made things a lot louder) but when I use kscd (the cd player) it says "Vol: 40%" even though kmix is turned up full on cd, speaker and volume. I cant seem tho find where you can change this volume setting in kscd, can it be changed?

Cheers

Liam.

How about having a look at the "kscd Handbook"? Rather than type it in myself and get it wrong, I'll just give you a hint: google, search for "kscd volume". ;-)

Sorry for the stupid post, I noticed the volume slider in kscd just after I hit submit.

Cheers.
