I am getting an error message when I shut down the PC
It says that Virtual memory minimum is low and that windows is expanding this memory.
What does this mean and what can I do to fix it

What Operating System?
XP is control panel-systm-settings-advanced

BUT

Understand what you are doing, its always preferable.

You will get better advice if you describe your system hardware, software and what you use the PC for

Not much use to you at the moment but when I do an install I like to give the swap file it's own partition.
Sometimes if your hard drive is getting full a defrag can make a difference.
Need to know your OS to give you good advice.

davet,

At a guess you're running Windows XP and you have Norton's Personal Firewall, or Norton's Internet Security? If so then you've found a very well known bug in NPF & NIS that they have been working on pretty much since the software was released, but as yet there has been no solution found. You don't have a Virtual Memory problem (if this sounds like your problem that is) and its either you click OK everytime you shutdown, or switch to a different firewall program.

HTH

Mike.
