Overclockers AU have posted a guide with showing how to flash an LG 32X burner up to a 40X burner. A pleasant surprise for owners of this burner. Here's a clip from the guide:
Would you like to transform your LG 32x10x40 CDRW into a 40x12x40? Of course you would. I did it to mine and it works like a charm. Burns 16x rated Akai CD's at 40x without a problem. Nero and other programs recognise the drive as the GCE8400B (40x LG drive), as does the BIOS. It's really easy to do and here is how to go about doing it yourself ...... All you'll need is WinACE!
Check out the guide over here (http://www.overclockers.com.au/article.php?id=76277).

For those having this problem:
Microsoft has admitted that DirectX 8.1 has problems on Windows XP from AMD technology. According to the company, an error window message is supposed to appear, in case of bad loadings, which it doesn't do so. Some news sources claimed that the source of this causing is from a faulty programming from Microsoft.

See the details at Microsoft (http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q321178)'s website
This was listed yesterday and if you want to download the fix which previously had to be obtained through Microsoft Support Centre, you can get it directly from here (http://www.warp2search.net/download.php?op=viewdownload&cid=3).

UPDATE: I have found a link to be able to download the nVidia NVDVD software DVD program that I posted a news item yesterday for. Grab it here (http://gzeasy.tzinfo.net/NVDVD122.EXE) and sit tight for a serial in the next couple of days.
