http://www.umich.edu/~dirsvcs/ldap/

The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) is a protocol for accessing online directory services. It runs directly over TCP, and can be used to access a standalone LDAP directory service or to access a directory service that is back-ended by X.500.

Godfather, virus protection up to date and did full scan just in case,I only installed Xp Pro a day ago so I guess these problems are part of the learning curve.

Check in Outlook Tools/Services
See if there is a Microsoft LDAP Directory Service
You should be able to safely delete it
