I used to have no trouble downloading 'Critical Updates' from Microsoft when prompted by their flashing icon. Now I get 'page cannot be displayed' or somesuch. I've emptied my Internet Temp files, as requested, but am reluctant to mess around with the register, as they suggest. My security is set at 'medium' for ActiveX. Has Microsoft made some fundamental change to the way they provide Updates?
Liam.

If you are running PC Cillin anti virus then disable it when you do your update as I know personally that this stops the page loading as it blocks active x.

Had this problem last year. Had some guy from Microsoft e-mailing me with all sorts of suggestions.

Finally said to re instal the Visual Basic Scripting Support.

Did this, got message to say it was already installed by I re-installed anyway and magically the problems disappeared and have never (fingers crosssed) returned.

Hope this may be of some use to you.
