I am about to setup a small network of 3 PC's via a hub and share internet. Two of the PC's are running Win98 Se and the other just Win98. The host PC for Internet sharing will be one of the Win98Se PC's. Question is do I have to upgrade the Win98 Pc to Se to share the net? Is there an advantage to set the Netbeui protocol as well as TCP/IP?

Last year I set up a win 2000 server with a win 95 client. Currently the system contains win 98se and a win 95 computer. All works fine.

I did once set up Netbuei - but that was to access a Win 3.11 computer. If everything is accessing the Internet just use TCP/IP.

The second PC does not need W98 second edition - only the PC that is sharing the internet connection.
Netbeui is a broadcast protocol and generally creates unwanted traffic. On a three PC network this is not so bad, and it may assist in browsing PCs via network neighbourhood. Otherwise you can just use lmhost files.
TCP/IP is all that is needed to browse the internet efficiently.
