When I try to save pictures, either using mouse right click or the image toolbar, they are always saved in BMP form, even though they are often JPEGs. My browser (IE5) wasn't doing this two days ago, it just seems to have altered itself. How can I get it back to saving pictures in their original format?
Thanks.

When you select save as from a right click, select .jpg from the drop down box "Save as type" at the bottom of the dialogue box.

Its a sticky setting and should stay that way until you change it

Thr trouble is that the drop down menu only gives me the BMP option.

try the repair option for Internet Explorer. It's in Control Panel "add/remove programs". Selecting uninstall will give you an option to repair.

Caesar, A friend of mine had the exact same problem. First of all try here
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q299953

If that isnt the problem, and it wasnt with my friend, you should try a virus checker as this is where the problem was with my friend. If you dont have your own, try going here http://housecall.antivirus.com/
Once the virus was removed, all was okay after rebooting. Im sorry I dont recall the name of the virus in question though.

Thanks for the help, I've tried a few other help sites and the answer that worked for me was to clear my temporary internet cache. There must be a limit to how much it can take before the browser starts acting oddly, everything is running smoothly now.
