A leaked copy of the new LOTR Two Towers trailer has been posted here <http://www.suburbanvandals.com/~dave/LOTR/2t1.mov>. This trailer is in Quicktime format and is extremely low quality as it seems to have been filmed straight off a TV screen.

Sick of those damn annoying pop-up ads that appear when you visit a website, well you can get rid of them with PopUpKiller 1453. Read a bit about it:
'With the industry leading popup blocking technology, Popup Killer works at a low level in the Internet Explorer engine - stopping a potential ad in it's tracks before it even has time to download. This prevents popup and pop-under ads from stealing bandwidth from your other legitimate downloads. Further more, there is no chance for the popup ads to place any cookie on your system.'
You can download it here <http://www.icrontic.com/download/pafiledb.php?action=download&id=49>.

Still with cool programs, here's one called FontList a program that does the following:
If you design something and you are looking for the right font, it can take a lot of time. In word processing, DTP and (web)design programs, you can often only select one font at a time. Finding the right font often means searching through all your fonts.

With FontList, you can create a HTML file that will show all the fonts installed on your computer. With your browser, you can pick the right font in no time.
Get it here <http://www.bitstorm.org/fontlist/FontList1.3-installer.exe>.

He's a story of child genius we can all look up to:
The seven-year-old son of an Indian diplomat in the Palestinian-ruled Gaza Strip has been awarded a Microsoft certificate which is so advanced that some U.S. universities require that their students earn it to graduate.
Anudeep Bhaskar obtained a Microsoft Office User specialist (MOUS) certificate after passing the Microsoft Office 2000 Word exam in May by scoring 891 points, surpassing the required 770.
Bhaskar and his family settled in the teeming, impoverished Gaza Strip shortly before the Intifada began in September, 2000. 'Israeli bombardments used to cut off electricity and I had to wait for hours and when electricity is back my work on the screen would have vanished and I had to redo it,' said Bhaskar.

In a letter to the second-grade student, an official from the MOUS programme said Bhaskar was 'one of very few, gifted young people in his age group that reached this level.'

Savagenews <http://www.savagenews.com> has posted the latest version (3.18 final) of PowerStrip. This version has the following:
PowerStrip 3.18 provides advanced, multi-monitor, programmable hardware support to a wide range of graphics cards - from the venerable Matrox Millennium I to the latest Radeon 8500DV and GeForce4 Ti4600. It is in fact the only program of its type to support multiple graphics cards from multiple chipset vendors, simultaneously, under every Windows operating system from Windows 95 to XP. A simple menu that pops up from the system tray provides access to some 500 controls over your display hardware, including sophisticated color correction tools, period level adjustments over screen geometry, and driver independent clock controls. A powerful application profiler can detect when programs are launched and respond by activating specific display settings, gamma adjustments, performance switches and even clock speeds - returning everything to normal when the program closes. In-game gamma hotkeys let you light up the darkest hallways during game play, and hardware control over refresh rates - with floating point precision - ensure you're never stuck at just 60Hz no matter what OS you're using. A quick setup wizard gets you up and running with minimal fuss, extensive context-sensitive help is available for all controls, and live updates are supported to ensure you're always running the latest release. Finally, an assortment of system and productivity tools - among them, extensive diagnostics, AGP device configuration, desktop icon management, a system idle thread, Windows resource monitoring, physical memory optimization, an on-screen display, and the most advanced monitor support in the industry - round out the compact 600kb package.
Go get it here <>.
