can anyone tell me how to revert the master boot record of a drive back to 'normal' after a linux install whoopsie? i have a big master drive with ME and data partitions and a secondary drive that i installed linux and win2k on to play around with. problem was i accidentally let grub install on the primary drive mbr instead of the drive with linux on it so now i can't boot my main ME partition without the other drive (removable) being in the system. how can i revert the mbr on the large primary drive back to normal WITHOUT wrecking the partitions on the drive?

thanks in advance

Hi Gareith

What you need to do is create a bootable floppy disk with a copy of fdisk on it.

Boot from the floppy and run fdisk/mbr.

This will re write the master boot record for your hard drive.
