Hello, I'm thinking of upgrading to winXP soon. I have 2 partitions C: and D:. I recently moved my Win98SE to D: by formatting and re-installing, I was planning to format anyway. Anyway, Win 98 has installed a few files on the C: drive that I want WinXP on, namely Autoexec and a few others. Will this cause any problems with the XP installation? If so, how can I fix this?

Nope, I don't think it will cause you any problems. You should start the WinXP setup in Win98, and choose to install a new copy, i.e. not the option to upgrade.

Jeffrey,

If you want to boot to Win98 at all, you'll need to install it to C:, as it won't boot from D:. WinXP could be installed to D: though, and will boot fine from there.

Isn't there a dual boot option or anything?
