Your question is a little ambiguous and I'm not sure if you are asking how to get rid of the 'Windows is shutting down' window or get rid of the themes.

It looks like your problem is related to the themes you installed so maybe getting rid of them will put things right.

You can remove the themes in Control Panel under Themes.

Hi Trevor,

It is not unusual for some themes to replace the default Windows startup and shutdown screens with their own.

The shutdown screens are stored in; c:\windows\logow.sys (shutting down message), and
c:\windows\logos.sys (safe to turn off message)

To restore the default message, copy the original logow.sys and logos.sys from the installation CD. These files will be located in CAB files which you should be able to browse if you have a CAB viewer installed (one comes with Win98, otherwise WinZip 8 also provides this ability).
