View Full Version : Missing Codecs from Windows Media Player

14-04-2002, 07:17 AM
Afriend phoned me recently to advise that they could,'t get any sound from there pc speakers. On investigation I see that Windows Media Player ver 7.0 that came with their Windows ME machine has no or hardly any codecs. I would like to uninstall WMP but could not see it listed under Add/Remove programs. I'd like to put WMP 7.1 on.
Any Ideas?

Cheers

Just install WMP7.1 over the top - being Microsoft product it'll overwrite like its supposed to and work as well as any MS product ever does...

although I doubt this'll help much - you should find the appropriate codecs on the net and download and install them, and then they should work okay. Not all codecs come with WMP.

I had to download divX so I could watch an .avi file, how do we download all codecs, without the other software?
