I just got a letter from Telecom saying that next month my limit is increasing to 1Gb from 600Mb, at no extra cost.

The standard cost for additional data stays the same.

Not sure what on earth I can download with the extra 400Mb, but nice that the letter wasn't a price increase.

Has anyone else got this letter?

Atleast it's not costing extra.

But its still not a lot more downloading.

This was announced (by accident I might say) at the NZ ADSL Mailing List

Quote:

From the 2nd of April Telecom is increasing the amount of Megabytes
Residential Users can download. (Commercial Customers don't change)

The Changes are:

Jetstream 400 ($49.00/Month) becomes Jetstream Home500 (increase of 400M ->
500M)
Jetstream 600 ($69.00/Month) becomes Jetstream Home1000 (increase of 600M ->
1000M)

The 20c/Meg for data over your allocated amount still stays the same.

Existing Customers will be changed over automaticlly.

just open my mail. letter fr Telecom replacing Jetstream 600 with Jetstream Home 1000* that's 66% more MBs for the same monthly price automatically from your next Jetstream cycle.couldn't believe it! not complaining-more streaming! wonder why? feeling the pinch from others competition?

Typical.
Us small business users are still presumed to be filthy-rich types who can afford whatever the gougers want to charge. The only reasone I went to Jetstream is coz the wallys were charging me over $300/month on DIALUP in per minute charges. Roll on REAL competition
