Have you replaced a Compaq Armada E500 Notebook battery recently? (Not the E500s Notebook model) How much did you have to pay, inc GST?

I'm trying to find the cheapest place to get a replacement Lithium Ion battery (11.1 V / 4.8Hr) and would like some information please. I live in the South Island. Thanks ? Mike.

Have you considered getting your existing battery 'reconditioned'? See Pressf1 posting 'Laptop battery', 11/3. I am not sure whether they offer an exchange service (quicker) or recharge your battery.

Not sure for real or urban legend, but someone posted here recently about putting a laptop battery in the freezer, then letting it warm naturally for a day before using it - apparrently got good results.

The freezer trick works wonders. Put the battery in a plastic bag and then stick it in the freezer for a day then let it warm up naturally and recharge. Will almost be as good as new

Well it doesn't hurt to try if it's money saved so I'll do as suggested and post the results this coming Thursday to give the battery time to freeze, thaw, recharge and have a few days use first.

Regards Mike.
