i had DirectX 8.1 for Win2k
and for some reason Direct Draw and Direct 3D acceleration is unavaliable.

Before it worked and it was avaliable to be activated
but now i can't use it any more.

This suddenly happend when i had DirectX 8
i hoped updating it would help but it didn't

i have a AMD-K6 3D proccesor, MMX, 3D Now, ~500MHz
376MB Ram
a Sis 530 build in chipset
already sharing 8MB from Ram
The driver for sis 530 is the most updated as well

from directX diagnosis tool
everything is working and i can pass the test for DirectDraw but not able to activate it because it says it is unavaliable

it worked before so it must be able to do it again somehow

I've had the same problem on almost the same hardware except I had 256MB and a K6/2 processor.

On the sis intergrated video you have to reinstall the latest drivers after installing directx.

or you can spend about $170 and get a motherboard based in the VIA Apolo MVP4 chipset like I did and get much better performance.

i have already updated the sis 530 to the newest driver from sis.com

direct draw and 3d are still unavaliable

also i notice that directx reconise my Display Memory as n/a

but in my bios setting i'm sharing 8MB of memery it also shows up in window itself as well

is there a chance that directx doesn't recognise the memery anymore making it not able to use certain functions?
