Anyone know a keyboard shortcut to close all open Windows?

The MS site has keys for shutting individual Windows, and even layered one, but no key for all open Windows.

Nice try Greg, but win-m only minimises the Windows, the same as show desktop, win-d.

I need something to close all open windows without shutting down the OS.

Thanx anyway

I am not very experienced, but for what it is worth, I found this through Google.

I have not tried it, just copied and pasted it here:

Close all your applications at the same time

When you're done working on your computer for the day, you probably close each open application one-by-one. If so, chances are that you've wished that you could close all your open applications at the same time. To begin, hold down the [Ctrl] key and click on each application button on your taskbar. When you do, you'll notice that each button remains selected. Once you've selected all the application buttons on the taskbar, right-click on any one of them and select the Close command from the shortcut menu. When you do, all your applications will close. If you have any application in which an open file hasn't yet been saved, that application will prompt you to save the file.

Hi again. On reflection I see that what I posted was a very long winded way to do it. You were after a single key method. Sorry about that.

I usually hold down the Alt key and press the F4 key repeatedly until I arrive at the desktop. Although not one click, it is easy to do and works quickly for me.
