Hi,

Can anybody explain to me the difference between an AT & ATX power supply and mother board & how one can tell the difference.

Thanks.

An AT power supply has two seperate connectors (about 5-6 pins each) for the motherboard, both the same size, and usually plug in side by side (it looks like one long connector on the board).

ATX has a single 2x10 connector.

The main difference between AT and ATX is with ATX the power is controlled by the motherboard, so they can turn them selves off/on.
