A new Epson C60 is on a Windows XP Computer. When I try to network with a Thinkpad Windows ME, I get a message on the laptop 'There was an error writing to LPT1 for the printer. The printer is not ready. Make sure it is turned on and online' I think it is turned on (?)and am not sure of the meaning of online. Anyway, it won't print.
A propos all this the printer uses a LOT of ink. The salesman did warn me, but I was used to the frugality of the old Epson 600.Help,please!!!

First of all you need to setup the printer as a shared device in XP - in XP under Printer and Faxes, right click on the printer you want to share, select properties and then sharing, select I want to share this printer, and give it a name - eg XPPRINTER. Then under the ME laptop go to Add printer and select Add network printer, and when it asks for the printer name give it \\XP_PCS_NAME\XPPRINTER and point it to LPT2. Then when you want to print something print to LPT2...
