In the February 2002 issue ofNew Zealand PC World there is and article on page 98 over the name of Stan Miastowski 'Bulk up your P C's Ram'.
In the first paragraph it says 'Ram prices are amazingly low' (about $50-$60 for 128MB at press time.)
Can someone tell the name and address of that supply as I am keen to bulk up as Stan suggests.

Thanx in anticipation.

sorry mate,

ram prices have jumped, you missed out unless you can find a store who stocked up while the price is low.

i heard rumors that Inhouse Computers (a small palmerston north computer store) did this, although i can't confirm.

best of luck, i think you'll need it

I would suggest that the article was written by a USA based contributer to IDG and he may well have been talking in US dollars, but then I could be wrong.

Make sure you research the right Mem module for your machine before you buy.
I have a Dell Optiplex that will only take Unbuffered DIMM.
There is a fairly good checking program at

http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/kepler/mfrmod.asp

That will help to confirm what you actually need.

Dell price for 128 MB for my PC came to over $400 - I declined.

Hi,

I have also found that RAM prices have jumoed recently. I put in 128 MB more last weekend and ended up buying it from Dick Smiths. The price was less than $100 (cant remember exactly - about $97) which is less than the advantage and ascent sites that I often use.

Brett
