Restarted running SETI@home 1 month ago after finding my account was still active after several years.
Downloaded BOINK manager and suddenly my HP Laptop started restarting itself several times a day. No indication of any problem. Googled the problem and got scared by the results, so disabled Boink after some thought and since disabling it 1 week ago no more problem.
Unable to find mention of the fault anywhere so hoping the experts on here may be able to shed some light on the problem as I would like to continue running SETI.

might just be heat, BOINK can push your PC hard if you let it. You can log into your account and set limits to drop the load
I let it have 10 % of my CPU for a few months then stopped using it.

Thanks Dugi, What you say makes a lot of sense so I have restarted BOINK with 20% and so far no problem.
Here's hoping. If worst comes to worst I can always stop it completely.

I wouldnt recommend this sort of thing on a laptop, unless you dont care about the laptop. If you really must, spend $150 on a cheap i5 PC & use that instead .
