Thread title says it all really.
I have a computer game called Sniper Elite 4. It will not open in the New instal of W10 Pro x64 v 1903 but it did play in W10 v1809. Why is this I can only ask. It baffles me. I have all DX up to DX12, The game has option to use either DX11 or DX12 , I have looked at compatibility and tried all the options available in Compatibility Settings (W7/W8/Vista and Vista SP1 and SP2 and nothing will get the game to open. Am notified "Is not compatible"...….. why??????? It worked in W10 v1809! Using the same Hardware I am running now. Only change is the new version of W10. I have all necessary DX and HW and Specifications for the game to play but as already said, since I installed v1903 its a no go scenario. Is a real PITA, and is illogical to my mind. Seems that if I want to play this Sniper game I need an out of date Operating System to play a Modern game that was released in Feb 2017.
edit: in fact the game did play in v1903, I upgraded from 1809 to 1903 and it played the game...since I did a Fresh install of W10 v1903 it not wants to know

Asus Prime B450M-A, AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics, G-Skill FlareX DDR4 16GB 2933Mhz (2400Mhz), Corsair MP300 M.2 NVMe SSD 250GB, Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB, Corsair HX 750W PSU....and W10 Pro x64 v1903

If the game comes on a disk maybe it is a region problem?

Games do not have not ever run from disk. They install from disk.
And uncompress in the process.
Games these days are huge. No way it could fit on a disk.

The graphic Drivers, Are they the ones that Windows would automatically download and install or are they the latest from AMD.

I will get around this glitch the hard way. Connect another Sata3 HDD and install W10 Pro x64 v1809 and a few updates and the Sniper Elite 4 game on it, use the Windows Driver for the Ryzen 2400G Vega11 graphics and it will play. Wow, the game has its very own Hard Drive and OS. Its not the Graphics driver its the W10 v1903. I will ask on Sniper Elite 4 forum if anyone having issues getting the game to open in W10 v1903.
Thanks

I tried something else first and got the game to play so I am happy as pig in muck. I uninstalled the game using Revo Uninstaller Pro v4 and reinstalled the game. First click on the Desktop DX12 shortcut and I'm in like the robbers dog :D 1 minute uninstall and an hour install to M.2 NVMe seems a bit long, even if it is the Sniper Elite Deluxe version that has all the DLC games. It is 67.2GB installed size. Big game really.
Installation also instals DX files (all pre DX 11 and DX 12 and Vis C++ 2010/2012 and 2015 both x86 and x64)
Wonder if it had anything to do with my installing AMD Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.6.3 that I got from using the add the hardware and submit for a driver. I had chosen the driver for the Ryzen 2nd gen when in fact I was looking for a driver for the Radeon RX580 Nitro+ GPU that is installed but has no driver. Reason being I wanted to see if the now gone install of the Sniper Elite 4 would play in the Samsung Plasma TV via HDMI. Well I never got a driver for it and it is still unusable.
The download size of the Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.6.3 was 366MB and it installed but is nowhere in sight. The only display adapter is the Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics and that is only about 50MB...so shrug on that one.
So. It's time to start the game from scratch and see how long it lasts :D
Thanks for your comments and suggestions.
