Windows blatently refuses to let me use a ls120 disk as a startup disk.Is there any way to convince it ?. It quite happily deleted any previous files on the disk...and has writen sys.dat to the disk and then throwes a wobbley..

Your BIOS is responsible for booting from your LS120 disk not Windows 98.

When you start your computer there should be something telling your to press Del or another button to enter the setup. From there you find an advance option and you find the place where it's booting from.

Change it to boot from LS120 while still maintaining booting to C:

Depending on your BIOS it may not support LS120 booting but there could be an update for it. Check the manufacturer of your motherboard maker or computer manufacturer for an updated bios.

I may have asked the wrong question. the problem is that windows will not let me write to a ls120 as a startup disk. the ls120 works correctly when using backup program et to boot from.
