There are only 2 USB ports at the front of my desktop case and I now want to add more ports to the front but I don't know if this is possible or what to order. I can see how to install a PCIE USB3.0 2-Port Add-On card to the back of the PC, but is there a way I can put the ports (4 if possible) in the front? By the way, when I built my desktop 7 years ago the mobo I ordered was supposed to have USB 3.0, as advertised, but it wasn't until after I assembled everything that I discovered the supplier sent me the USB 2.0 version (ASUS M4A88TD-M) so the modification I am wanting to do will not only give me more USB ports but it will be 3.0.

I recently added a SSD HD for C drive, plus a video card and the desktop is running very well indeed (I am not a gamer).

If I have to settle for ports in the back, is THIS (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/IDEDIG691827/Digitus-DS-30220-4-PCIE-USB30-2-Port-Add-On-card-w?qr=pspy&ref=pricespy)card OK? Thanks for your advice.

I used these to get two USB ports on the front of my pc.
The panel fits in place of the floppy drive cover.
The card has an extra connector for a lead to the panel. It is the black connector shown at the top.

Thanks b.... that is what I am looking for. Good prices also. Searching eBay there are 4 port front usb ports but they have two cables (one for each pair of usb ports) and it does not look like the PCI-E card has dual input sockets - seems to be one input (to the two ports) and a power cable socket.

I think that the cards can only do 4 ports, so it is 4 on rear, or 2 on rear and connector for 2 on the front.

My pc doesn't have a floppy, so the 2 port panel was the perfect match.

Buy one of these. (https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2380057.m570.l1313.TR11.TRC1.A0.H0.X5.25+ usb+3.TRS0&_nkw=5.25+usb+3&_sacat=0) But unless there's 2 USB 3 headers on the mobo you wont get USB 3 speeds on the front

Thanks Speedy. I did see those after b.... posted his info, but like you say it would give me only USB 2.0 ports. It looks like the best way for me is to do as b... suggests since my old PC case still has the floppy drive (disconnected). If I need more than two USB 3.0 ports on the front, I will get a hub / splitter box or whatever they are called.
