The user account control is continually reacting to some of my software as being unknown! I have known this software for 20 years. It is stupid, doesn't learn. I tried an app (UAC trust) which is supposed to bypass the control, but it often doesn't work. Is there a way to exclude individual software from UAC without adding software? I could turn it off, but this would be a security risk.

I had UAC on once, but soon turned it off, like Gary. Too much of a pain in the neck.

Yeah, don't feel guilty about turning it off, we won't tell anyone.

I leave it on the default setting and I haven't had trouble with it.

So do I. With the same result.

Mine is set to not notify me if changes are made by me (one notch down on scale). Never see warnings with this.

When it was all or nothing, I always turned it off.
