It used to work fine but not today. Printer is about 8m away in the dining room with the double doors opened, router is next to the TV - line of sight. It finds the WiFi and I put in the code and it fails. If I move the printer next to the Fritzbox router WiFi works fine.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I guess you have already tried rebooting the wifi.

Yes a few times and recreated the WiFi connection on the printer by plugging in the password again. Have also used WiFi analyser channels 13 and 14 are best am on 13 but 14 cannot be chosen on our router. Have also tried auto channels.

Have you established that the problem is with the printer & not the wifi?
ie are other devices able to access the wifi ok?

Yes re: the Fritzbox all smartphones and tablets are working fine here and in the bedrooms.

We have a older router here (ASUS) placed in the same position but that works with the Brother printer under WiFi. We're using that as an additional switch.

Go into Devices and printers, right click the printer - Remove device.

Download the latest software from Brother http://support.brother.com/g/b/producttop.aspx?c=nz&lang=en&prod=hll2380dw_us_as Reinstall The Software using the defaults for wireless.

You may find the IP address is somehow screwing up. If you have two different Wireless signals it could be getting conflicts.

Thanks, working now.

When we were troubleshooting it, I did turn off the ASUS and rebooted the Fritzbox to no avail.

After switching it from wireless to LAN and back to wireless, it asked me if I wanted to switch it back to wireless. Working and reporting 73Mbps.

But I have removed the printer as you have suggested and reinstalled the software from another download. Works now.
