View Full Version : How to fix a slow cache speed?

04-01-2002, 12:08 AM
Hi all.
I have just done my weekly visit to pcpitstop.com and as always, my cached speed is slow @ 77 mb/s. It is supposed to be about 170 mb/s. What causes that, and how do I fix it?

Cheers again.

assuming you are talking about harddrives here the most comman is dma not enabled for the drive. it could also be mobo drivers or even a bios prob.

can you post some details of your comp??

Attn tweak'e...
I have cut and paste the results from PC Pitstop for your analysis. The MB's are megabytes. DMA is enabled. The percentages given are as a comparison of similar systems. I hope u can make sense of this and figure out why cached speed is always slow. Thanx in anticipation of your always helpful responses.
