ViewSonic VA 1926wSeries (19.1"vis) - 1/12/2007

also

Display Adapter - NVIDEA GcForce 7025
NVIDEA nForce 630a

I suppose these things need to be replaced some time, is 9 years good, bad or indifferent? - reason for the post is the screen seems to be reluctant to open as the desktop, from "sleeping," when turned off then restarted no problem. The info re "Display Adapter" is from "Belarc Adviser" I'm running W7. Any thoughts/advice on whether a new monitor is the answer? Perhaps some advice on what brand too?

If its working OK from a reboot, sounds more like a PC problem instead of a Monitor.

Its possible the Graphics card is playing up, but normally if it were you would see other problems during everyday usage.

Could be the drivers simply not working correctly from sleep.

Have you tried completely uninstalling the graphic Drivers and installing Fresh ? What I use is http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html Pays to uninstall them in safe mode ( as it recommends) The latest download links are down the page near the bottom just before the comments.

As for age, well they do all wear out, but on saying that my Viewsonic 22" is going on 10 years old and the graphic card lasted around 8 before the fan finally was making to much noise with wear.

HI Wainuitech, the DDU (v 15.7.5.5) removes existing drivers? So where do I get the new current ones?

Good its working, I'll answer anyway :)

Sometimes windows updates will put them in, other wise for the complete package you go to the Nvidia site and select your card http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx
