View Full Version : master boot record

We recently upgraded to Novell 4.11, Office 97, Norton Anti Virus V4 on Toshiba and IBM laptops as well as IBM desktops. Apprx 30 users. Some of our laptop users have received the following error message 'master boot record has changed, Inoculate or Repair'. If repair is chosen the files on the C: drive disapear and the label looks corrupted. When the machine is booted the following error message appears 'Non system disk, replace and strike any key when ready' even though there is nothing in the A: drive. I have been rebuilding the machines to fix the problem. We have been advised to choose Inoculate but I am not sure what is causing the problem. Is it something to do with Norton Antivirus?
