View Full Version : vcomp100.dll is missing windows 8.1

I am using Windows 8.1 64 bit with all the recent updates installed. I attempted to load the game MotoGP 13. This installed and created a shortcut to run the program on the desk top. When launching the game I get and error that vcomp100.dll is missing. The program will not run. The suggestion was to reinstall the game. I ran the installation as a repair, uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Restated the computer and the error is still there. Totally useless. [typical of so many computer games]

I searched online for a solution. The problem pops up on various searches. Potential solutions directs you to third party sites that ask you to download and install a program that is supposed to fix this.

Here is a link to one of these sites

When clicking this link the antivirus software program issues a warning about downloading this, ESET NOD 32 in this case.

Is this problem addressable without opening up the computer to malicious software?

Try this (http://www.microsoft.com/en-nz/download/details.aspx?id=14632)

It's probably missing some version of the above

Thanks you for the reply to my post. I did download and run

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64). After the installation and restart the problem is still there.

I already have the current version of Framework and Direct X

Seen some programs that need a couple of features enabled in W8 /8.1 that are not there by default, yet were in previous versions of Windows, ( Live essential's for example Needs this other wise it wont work)

Enable .NET Framework 3.5, heres how http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2785188/en-us
