Morning all,
It's been a long while since I've been here.
I am currently trying to install wordpress locally on my machine at home for learning and development purposes
I have downloaded and installed WAMPSERVER 2.5 64bit version. which I understand is a complete download and I shouldn't need to download extensions etc at this point.
I can access my "localhost" page on port 80 from wampserver
I cannot access my phpmyadmin page. I get http 500 internal server error. I need to do this to create a database to hold my wordpress file prior to extracting my wordpress files.

Any ideas why and a solution? I haven't found anything useful in the wamp forums.

When you start your wamp server do both servers start or just one?

Try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pIqrdK-JKU

both servers?
The icon goes green and port 80 is available I unloaded IIS and shifted Skype off port 80 port 80 is showing as used by apache so everything should be available. I may be missing something very basic as this is the first time I've ever worked with Wamp and wordpress. I am more used to ADOBE dreamweaver and visual studio.

Thanks for the link but this shows how to fix it from inside wordpress.
I can't even get that far I can't even get access to phpmyadmin from inside WAMP it's self so that I can actually create a database to install word press.
I'll be away for about 5 days from tomorrow so I'll check back in and talk more on return but thanks for your effort at this point.
