Bloody shocking news Ewen Gilmore, killed by death, he was a good bugger. Big loss for NZ. I do hope his comedian mates joke around about his passing though, it would be what he wanted I think.

Funny guy. Will be sadly missed. I used to laugh at his Westie jokes, for even though I have lived in Napier for over 50 years, I am a Westie, having been brought up in those fine suburbs, New Lynn and Glen Eden.

Heard on the radio today, they were trying to play a segment of his work, they had a hard time finding something they could put on the radio :)

Will be missed.

On a slightly different note my great Gran was killed by deafness.

There was a steamroller coming, she didn't hear it. :crying

Sad news, one of the comedians I enjoyed seeing.

You reckon?
A true Westie would get the reference, especially the older ones.

He was a good man as well a good entertainer.

Have my doubts about that.
That can mean those who find the person don't see all the distress. But how do we know they don't wake and know before it all ends?

Anyway I liked Ewen, he was a good comedian and one of the few local Councillors who were any use.
He was my age....

Never heard of the guy before.

Didn't see or hear any news yesterday. Just read the Herald online today with Mike Kings piece putting Ewan in the past tense and thought "OMG is Ewan dead?" It wasn't until his last sentence that confirmed it.
What a shame.
