Is it abnormal to still be elated almost 10 days after the election where the commies got a hiding? I am a little annoyed they haven't really started tearing into other. Been advocating Robertson as leader on another social media site and I have got my first ever hate mails. Love it.

I think that actually started pre-election, back stabbing & behind the scenes sneaky nasty stuff .
Ever party goes through that phase, but labour takes it to a whole new level.
:-)

labour really needs to split into 2, the moderates & the extremes . They cant exist with both.

Oh yes, and they were a mix of (almost) moderates & extremes . Thats why they had a meltdown.

At least the Nat extremes eventually just move over to Act

Apart from the fact that because of convictions and lack of funds because of drinking, my White Maori party seems to have been gaining a bit of steam here in Wellington. Unfortunately, I've had to tell a couple of White Supremicists to go away.

As a resident of Wellington Central (until they bumped us into Ohariu for the last election) I can say that Grant Robertson has been pretty good.

Unfortunately the Auckland/Pacific Islands/Christian/bigot lobby will never vote for a gay MP

Our supermarket checkout operator told us why she didn't vote Labour this election, although she normally does. She said she couldn't afford the extra Kiwisaver contribution (or whatever it was) that Labour was proposing.

It shows you how the lower echelons vote for what affects them on the spot, not according to how they will suffer in the long term. I expect they would vote against a gay MP for the same spurious reason

Its looking like the commies are going to go with Nash and Davis, new blood. Unfortunately for New Zealand they would have a chance in 2017.
I rung Radio Live a few days ago saying Robertson the best person to lead the labor party, see I am not a homophobe.

Nash! Good guy, but at 132yo I donít think we should burden him.

As for Davis, well Thomas Robert Alexander Harries Davis is at 97 a bit long in the tooth also.

But, in earlier days they would both be good choices. :)

As an aside, it is widely accepted that Walter Nash knew the names of EVERY unemployed beneficiary. Need one hell of a memory today.

Works everytime Keys lovers jump to his defense. Would you jump in his grave too? Its actually getting quite funny these posts.:) Notice its always the same one or two people always starting the post, and the get all defensive and name calling when challenged. ?

Statement: National won this year because they and a better party more stable than the others.

Question 1: Do the national Voters who always start these types of posts, have to keep posting and name calling because they are actually after attention or is it because they are actually insecure in their own minds on how they voted and need to feel all important by running others down ?

Question 2: Wonder what would happen if they posted and NO ONE answered, would they go all crazy and start throwing their toys out of the cot (so to speak).

A sad confession, but a dictionary would help you with that Prefect (there are plenty on line) just as it would help you also to understand why, as a result of their policies, the present government could also be referred to as commies (or perhaps commie lovers), as you so sensitively label those with whom you do not agree.

Noun: Socialism

Definition: A political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Noun: Communism

Definition: A political and economic system where all property is public and people work and are given things by the government according to their needs.

So, all communists are by definition socialists, but all socialists are not communists.

Now, -take a few deep breaths to oxygenate your brain, then try to understand the difference.

It may have escaped your stunted understanding of political systems Prefect, but the definition of communism embodies more than a few striking characteristics of the behaviour and policies of the current government.

To be absolutely fair, there are marked similarities between the policies of both main NZ parties, except that under National policies, the ownership of production, distribution, and exchange moves substantively toward those with capital to spare and the benefits gained from the production process recede rapidly from those who actually carry out that production.

However, over recent years, both ownership and the role of production has substantively been off-loaded to China and other mass market producers, which means that employees do not earn the income in NZ to afford on our home market the goods they produce and export, and we no longer have the range of production facilities within NZ to provide adequate local employment, as our many dead rural communities can testify.

We are all at fault to some extent, due largely to our rampant worship of consumerism, and the gotta have it NOW! syndrome, which keeps the Usurers in business and helps the needy to become needier.

No need to thank me, it was my pleasure.

Cheers

Interesting what names infer... as a commentator was saying re the Scottish independence movement before their Yes/No vote.

"The Scots are a very Nationalistic race of people who, if they gain independence, will probably vote in a Socialist government. So, a National Socialist Party?

WAIT, WHERE HAVE WE HEARD THAT NAME BEFORE????"

You can imply I am a dumb **** I dont care, but the labor party song is the red flag. If it has feathers, a bill, webbed feet and quacks its a duck. I was going to say has wings but I have seen flightless ducks on an island just off Campbell Island.

I think a lot of the Labour politicians would love to get away from the Party influence. If you took the blue collar unions and the teachers out of the equation, Labour would be quite like the Nats. Unfortunately, that is where their voting base comes from. Fancy having the system where the unions and party members hav a 69% say in who becomes the parliamentary leader. A system that could return Cunliffe to his old job.

Between a rock and a hard place I think.

So going by the wording, can National actually be called a bunch of Tories - their color is Blue ?

the Tory Party or the Tories, is a centre-right political party

I'll answer my own Question. (Danby was the first Tory Leader)

Danby was a master at management and he used the position he had in politics to advance those who he felt would best support his policies.

So change Danby to Key -- And yep you have what we currently have.

Totally no biggie got 3 xtra votes. Hopefully the National party can ram through changes in the RMA and get employment law sorted. Its looking good for a 2017 victory because the commies are going to do the one thing they shouldn't do but I am glad they are, a divisive leadership squabble. The person they will pick will fail in the ratings and get pitched out like Shearer in about 2 years time. If I was the labour caucus I would just let David Parker take over and become a proper opposition and pick some one with consensus like National did with Key. Luckily the commies dont listen to me.
