Hey ya all

My new machine is running Win XP Pro which is NTFS and i want to get my MP3's, Jpeg's etc off my old PC which is a Windows 95 FAT32. My plan is to put my old HDD on my new machine as Primary Slave and get my data off that way but wot i want to know is when i connect up the old HDD FAT32 will XP stuff up my Windows 95 system files in any way with them being FAT32 not NTFS. Not that i will be copying them over it just that i have a lot of important documents on their and i just need to makesure. (and reinstalling 95 is boring as)

So could i just have some feed back on this please and any other suggestions or probs i may encounter.

Thanks all

Doing it the way you want to will work fine.

Putting a fat32 drive into an xp box is just fine.

But an older os - ie not winNt or older than win2000 will not recognize an ntfs disk. so you cannot put your new drive in the old computer.

Be careful as having two bootable operating systems running may cause problems. If you have problems transferring the files to your XP disk try running in safe mode. It will take longer but you may avoid any blue screens.
