Windows8 I can send and receive emails okay. All settings in account correct. When I attempt a repair in outlook account message comes up "windows cannot establish your account settings as there is no internet connection"

Looks like this can happen if there's a problem, with the outlook profile. Try creating another one

This is a home PC / email right?? Not a work PC? Is there a work offline icon behind send/receive in the menu / at the top. If there is, click on it

Click on send/receive in the menu. Up the top beside File / Home. Work Offline maybe or should be at the end. Click on that. Does working offline appear bottom right in Outlook?? If it does, that should remove it

no sorry neither worked, still down the bottom right saying working offline but just received a test email from outlook saying the settings are fine. Working offline is still in bottom right hand corner

Got it working by going to file, account, email and repair. This time instead of saying no internet connection it just went through the process of repairing the account and it was successful. Thanks speedy.
