Not being a W8 user -help! On older friend wants to get rid of having to sign in each time he opens his PC.
Searched and there are various suggestions - easiest method?
Appreciate input!
Thanks

Easy, don't log out and use sleep mode rather than turning the computer off when not using it. The user sign in feature was added to W8 to give it better security.

Run netplwiz from the Run box, you can set it in there to not require a password everytime.
Select the user you want to use, enter in the current password, and it will remember it.

One way is to add a local account with no password and use that.

Highlighted-- Not exactly.

Its more to do with Microsoft Services, items like Onedrive, live Mail (if using the metro tile) The Store and other tasks that would normally require you to sign into your MS account.

If you dont sign in and try to access any of the above you get the following warning:

5720

Guess who doesn't need to sign in to this W8 computer :p

My way still logs you in with the same account name and password, it just happens automatically, so you won't get those errors.

Looks pretty easy using the netplwiz method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rai8a763USQ&hd=1
